Our head coach Laura has been part of the competitive dog agility world for many years now. She currently competes with her dogs Indy and Harper, as well as her good pal Minnie. All of these rescue dogs have had impressive agility careers so far, showing even more promise for the future. In 2022 Laura and Indy represented Ireland at a number of international events abroad. They have been selected to do the same events for 2023 as well as Indy being named the Top Large Agility Dog in Ireland and set to represent our nation at Crufts.
With various dogs, she has won up through the grades in the Irish Kennel Club, the Irish Agility and Dog Sports Association and the Kennel Club (UK). She is a qualified and licensed agility judge for the Irish Agility and Dog Sports Association and the Kennel Club UK.
She holds a Diploma in Dog Training and she regularly attends seminars and workshops with top national and international handlers to keep up to date with the latest handling and evidence-based training methods within the sport.
Rachel has been working as a dog trainer for eight years, though she had been training her own dogs for a lot longer than that! Currently, she is a proud dog Mom to SEVEN dogs. At this stage, they have tried their hand at almost every dog sport: tricks training, agility, flyball, nosework etc. Rachel’s current obsession is canine freestyle (doggy dancing) and she hopes to travel to the UK to compete there next season. She holds a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Training, is a Certified Trick Dog Instructor for DMWYD and has attended many workshops and seminars as part of her continuous education covering a wide-range of dog-related topics.
Nikki has always studied and worked with animals. While at home in the UK, she started with earning her National Diploma in Animal Management and Husbandry and Canine Behaviour and Handling. Since moving to Ireland she has spent 3 years being the supervisor of a busy doggy daycare while continuously updating her education within dog training, behaviour and animal care. She currently works as assistant agility trainer for WaggyMamas along with running her own dog walking business Paws are Made for Walking. She and her rescued Patterdale Terrier cross, Maddie took the competition scene by storm in their first season winning up to IKC grade 3. Her young border collie JJ shows buckets of potential for when he starts competing too.
